Alright guys, I have a 06 white M with the wheat interior, the interior wood trim is starting to drive me nuts.
I love my M fully loaded with everything single options and I figure hell with it, I'll get over the wood trim but I CAN'T
and it starting to drive me nuts each day. I am looking to do some vinyl wrap for the wood trim pieces and I am looking for some advice on what color I should do.
Car is white on exterior with wheat interior, I am thinking of a white carbon fiber vinyl wrap, what do you guys think?
Or should I do black?

black accents might look better. More contrast between the surfaces.

I 2nd what Msvara said.
You already have a lot of white in the car, including the whole underside of the front dash area. The top of the dash is already black so either color will work out, but since all the seats and such are white I think a bit more additional black trim would give a better look without feeling out of place.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions but I decided that I will go with black, since I will buying a roll, I can use the rest to wrap the roof. I watched couple YouTube videos, it doesn't look that hard. Just need 2 people to pull and stretch.
Will post pix once this project is completed.

When wrapping the roof i suggest doing it in a garage where its warm. Dont over stretch when heating it, some brands wont shrink down enough. Also keep an eye out on the direction of the CF, when heatin and stretching it can be easy to distort.

I will keep in mind, I live in San Jose, we still get 70 degrees weather

Edit: will work on the interior wood trim first (kinda like practice) then roof.

If you really want to be fancy and be different, do water transfer. Way more options, and guarantee you won't see anyone else with it.

Also known as hydro dipping. A way to paint a new look onto surfaces. Can be a mat look or wet look. I personally like the wet look, looks like permanent gloss clear coat. The hard part is finding the look you want because the standard stuff is camouflage or wood grain. But there are some hot things out there. A lot f bike helmets are done with this.

Here are some links, I like the first one, which shows you possibilities.

I wanted to do this, but was told trying to get the door wood panels off usually ends up breaking them...and then finding the right glue to put them back on will be hell.

No problems with taking the wood pcs of the door, I took them of myself as I wrapped all my trims.

I also like the look of Hydro-dipping or whichever they call it but I haven't seen a design I really like just yet. If you could find one that isn't woodgrain, but coloured say in ... dark beige, ivory, even black or steel with swirls, that would be absolutely brilliant! I like my wood but not the black plastic trim along the console and dash so I wrapped my multi-switch and console in 3M 1080 carbon fiber and it came out great (also added siver knobs to the radio (size 21x17) with a $4 purchase off Ebay)

I really like those radio knobs....I need those. lol now I just have to find them, did 21x17 knobs just slide over the oem ones? or did you have to pull off and replace?

That is clean! :bigthumb:
I'll stick with wrapping them. I don't have the funds for a project like or I'd rather spend it on other mods more beneficial like UpRev :dblthumb:

The black knobs pull straight off. The only tweek I needed was for the passenger side knob as it slid on too deep to allow you to push it inward in addition to just turning it. On that knob, I stuck some paper into the knob hole to prevent it from sliding on to the post so deep. I found them by seraching on Ebay for 'tuner knob' and 'amplifier knob'. The 21x17 knobs show just a wee bit more of the amber surround light than the original knobs (which I fancy) but I reckon you could go to maybe 22cm to reduce that. During daylight, there is no differece between these and the OEM black ones - except silver looks much better, LOL..
21x17 was the closest I could find to a perfect OEM fit which i reckon would be maybe 22x15.

EDIT:
I just found the exact set of three that I purchased and form the same place!

$3.95 with free shipping (like 2 weeks wait period)

They've been on for over a year I reckon and no peeling on the finish, no loosening of the grip. It's surprising how just changing two small knobs can give the whole console a completely different look. It makes the little chrome CD slot and clock stand out a little extra as well.

My pleasure, mate.
Thanks Wangtang for the dipping info. I really do plan on getting into that idea again. Just busy with the process and planning towards becoming a <GULP> married (AHHHHHHHHH!) man later in the year.

Congrats and good luck on the wedding. I been married since I was 23, it's the kids that are keeping me busy, I have 3 boys 5yr, 2yr and 8 months.
No time to work on the car. I just ordered NGK iridium plugs, getting ready to get that UpRev from Seymore4 once I get that tax return check then the wood trim and roof will be next when I can squeeze some time.
Thanks y'all for then suggestions, Larz you've always been helpful cheers mate!

Thanks, mate ! Yes, I survived for 31 years with no hooks or chains, LOL. But now, Fetucini has her hooks in my heart and I rather like them there so it's time to sign over my wedding vegetables to their new owner.
(wedding veggies = man parts)

You mind taking a couple more picks? Day light/different angle? One like the op interior and one from the drivers seat that catches from the shifters finish up to the big rotation button (I don't know what it's called smh).

Does it wobble any, or does it feel exactly like the originals?

I took a plethera of new pics of the knobs, and the current VHT tinted tails and VHT eyebrows that I recently completed. I made a separate post under the "what have you done" thread. I want to avoid having this dash wrap thread being turned into something else. REEEEE ... spect

EDIT: that thread seems to be removed form the sticky section ???? I'll make a new post titled :radio knobs & custom lighting.

I have the same color interior trim, at first I didn't like it, until my gf convinced me that she likes it better then the black interior.

Now you have revive the part of me that's bothered by the interior.
