I don't know how long I have had this annoyance but every time I close the door on my car the interior engine coolant temperature gauge mounted in the instrument cluster goes up just a little. Thankfully I have instrument cluster cover apart (The part that covers the gauge cluster, houses the vents and holds the dimmer and hazard switch).
When tapping on the plastic cover the speedometer and tachometer along with the engine coolant temperature gauge move a little bit. The speedometer and tachometer go back to zero but the engine coolant temperature gauge stays in place until the coolant temperature actually drops. I have a spare gauge cluster but I would hate to have to unplug the current one being that the harness and connectors are brittle as they are from age.
I am thinking about installing four rubber spacer (Washers) between the screws where the gauge cluster sits. This should solve my problem or perhaps I shut the door too hard on my car but I doubt it.
Does anyone else have this issue?
Did Infiniti do this on purpose so the driver would think there car has fully warmed up when it hasn't? I am kidding I think I may have over tightened the screws when I last unscrewed the cluster to replace some burnt bulbs.
