So I have some faux wood overlays all over the interior of my car. Now I liked them at first, but now I'm kind of over them and would rather have a carbonfiber/black interior combo as opposed to the way the wood looks. In addition, the wood doesn't really flow with the rest of my car.

I was wondering though.. what's the easiest way to take it all of? I have it on my steering wheel, window controls, the ENTIRE center piece (from the air vents to the cup holders), etc.. will I have to deal with leftover residue from the glue/tape that was used?

Thanks! :)

Take a heat gun to them and slowly work them off. Use floss if you can and work it behind the overlay. To remove residue use 50/50 goo gone and water mixture to clear it up.

Cool thanks for the reply. That sounds easy enough. Can that solution be used on the exterior paint too? I have a sticker on my mirror that I was gonna take off but stopped right when I started peeling it because it left a lot of glue/paper on the paint.

Yuh just make sure you Rewax the area afterwards as the goo gone will remove wax or sealant. Used this method when I de badged my coupe and when I removed a decal. Remove as much as you can by peeling then remove the residue with the solution. And be careful not to scratch the paint. :nono:

Oh definitely. I was gonna use a microfiber towel or something to scrub with if anything, nothing harsh.
