Interior Overhead lights to exterior

I was wondering if anyone knows where i can find the wires to the interior overhead lights (the ones above the backseat when you open the door they turn on). I want to wire some LEDs to the outside of the car so that it would only turn on when my car is either unlocked or when the doors are open. Any ideas? Thanks you

I've thought about doing this myself, but after talking to a few friends of mine i think it's a little bit more difficult that just taping into the wires.
Eventhough LED are much lower consumption, they will require resistors on them and with a resistor it'll draw the same power as the normal bulbs do, thus if you wire it improperly you'll make ALL the interior lights weaker.

When i figure out how to wire this properly, i'll post up a how to.

Not pretty sure where I saw it, but I believe I saw someone that did a mod exactly like what you want to do ...
