No, Z2 is out, the Z2 does not have any of the features I listed above, i.e. Z2 has add on bluetooth, non removable 40Gb HD, no wifi connectivity, etc.

this was taken off the avic411 forum.. again, we will have to wait to see about its authenticity, and he claims that this is a beta version, so the final Z3 may not have this at all... but if it does, this isn't too much different than a carputer! And if the Z3 has all of this, I will def be getting it!

NO, there is nowhere that you can find a list of featues on this as its n beta production... this guys probably was NOT supposed to post this as I'm sure Pioneer's competitors would love tro try and get a leg up on them, but as of now, Pioneer's aftermarket units are the best in existence, even better than factory navi units ...hands down!!! IMHO

If you want to read the forum, go to avic411.com, go to forums, go to general D3 forum, then looks at the thread titled "direct pioneer dealers sale"... you'll find it there... wait, hold on...

I agree, its pretty awesome, this is the type of technology that you find in the $375,000 MAYBACH...

like I said, if it comes out, even if it's 3,000, I'm grabbing it!

That is the best news, I just signed up here to reply on this post. I've ran searches on 'AVIC-Z3' every once in a while, and this time it brought me to this. FINALLY! I got a new Jeep not too long ago and was so close to getting the Z2, but the 10gb music space (after 20 for nav) is just not enough for my library, and I didn't want to pick and choose my playlists. I want it current with what's on my computer. Soooo, I figured I'd wait for the next installment. March is a bit away, but 80gb will be awesome. It sucks they don't up the notch faster though....harddrives are so cheap nowadays. Any idea if it will have the voice recognition like the Z2? I'd imagine so, but that's a big thing that attracted me to this thing in the first place. Either way, great post.

Wooo, we're getting ahead of ourselves alittle. Im about as excited as you guys, BUT, if you notice, I put March with questions marks after it... truth is we don't know exactly when they will release it, all we know is that they are currently testing the Beta version, and that's what it came with. I do hope it includes everything I listed, but, as with all beta versions, if they find too many glitches, they will remove a specific feature.

Also, i wouldn't buy it as soon as it comes out, I'd give it a few months as there are bound to be problems until they release patches to fix them... in any case, I'll keep my ears to the ground and keep updating if i hear anything else through the grapevine

So, as I mentioned earlier, carputers have existed for years now, unfortunately, you can't type and drive at the same time. Most luxury cars with computers have the computers/keyboards in the back seat.

In regards to price, the Z3 is probably gonna go for what the Z2 went for when it was released, on the avic forum, they state a price of around 2500 translating to ~1800 ~ 1900 on ebay. Again, one could do what you're suggesting to their cars right now, but you never see it, WHY?? because its a pretty asinine idea!

Sounds like a home-made carputer...only it's official and mass produced. Beats using one of these:

Yeah, I know a number of things can push the Z3 back, but I'll stay hopeful. I read on AVIC411 it should be showed off at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in January. Hopefully more details then.
