I have installed a new wood dash in my J30, thanks to Jason at Burtman Industries ([email protected]). And thanks to everyone's input here in the forum, I was able to install the new JVC 2-din head unit, in less than 2 hours....not bad for a novice! This head unit plays mp3 discs, and also controls your iPod using the head unit's controls. The cable for the iPod goes right into the storage compartment of the center console.

Not sure why the pics didn't work. I'll post them instead (one at a time):

wow, that is really nice looking! is it wood or wood look (plastic)?

also, I would say to clean all the fingerprints and whatnot off of it and then take some more pics so we can see the grain more.

It's real wood. I did my best with the pics...there are no prints on the wood, it was just a very sunny day and there's just lots of reflection. The wood is darker than stock....more of a cherry walnut than the original brown walnut. here's another pic:

Glad you like it. It looks 10 times better in person, and really hard to get pictures that show it.

Here is a little more info and write-up added to the site:

Here's the same color also in a Q45.

I got one from Jason last week. Installed it and it does look really nice and more complete. I hope I will make some pics this weekend and put them here. As Jason provided very detailed instruction on the installation process it went smooth and quickly. Thanks a lot.

"Here's the same color also in a Q45."

All J30 years are almost the same car, other than some detail differences.
