I don't know how long it's been like this because I just noticed it, but when I lock the doors after getting out, the dome light and lights under the glove box and steering wheel won't turn off. I checked the two "sensors" on the door and they seem to work fine so I think it might have to do with the hatch. Or not. I need some help guys.

(Keep in mind that I just finished installing a new headliner, so I did remove the rear trim pieces...)

1988 300zx AT coupe (non turbo). What other info do you need?

After closer inspection, the open door warning light *does* turn off, but the lights do not.

You likely have a short in the dome lamp over your head ,on the ground side keeping the light on. Do the lights stay on when your driving the car? How long have you waited after locking the doors they might be on a timer and dim out after a minute or so.

The lights do remain on while driving. Before this occurance the lights turned off in less than ten seconds when the door locked. Now they remain lit.

you must have a short to ground on the ground side of one of the door or hatch switches. You pinched a wire some were either near the dome lamp or at the switches.
