I have a 95 S14. I noticed some odd things with the interior lighting and other electrical stuff in the car. First, The lights don't turn on when I open the door, 2nd there is no sound if the keys are in the ignition with the door open.(no idea if the s14 does that or not but most cars do). And the oddest thing is that the backlights on my hvac controls never turn on but they did once randomly. Anyone that can help would be great.

I would think s14 would have that dinging sound, s13 chassis have them its possible the previous owner(assuming you are the second or more owner) could have unplugs/removed it.

Considering your dome light and key-in-the-ignition chime both work off the door pin switch, I would start there! Does either one of those work when you open the passenger door?

I Agree. I had the same problem once when i was trying to remove my light blub (dome light) with a screwdriver (dumbass...LOL) and there went my fuse. Starting with the fuse is a great idea.

Same thing happened to me. The dumbass before me disconnected the switch on the door jam. The switch turns on the dome light and the chime sound when the key is in the ignition or if the headlights are on. If you open the door it is right on the door jam. It is a push button switch. See if it was disconnected. You have to pull the plastic interior piece back to see the wires.
