I am having a problem with my floor courtsy lights. is it a loop system where if one bulb is out they all stop working?

Nope, if one is blown, then only that one should be out.

I was replacing a bulb and touched the + and - accidentally together and now that door light and the floor light are shorted. Not sure if you have the same problem but I was stumped as to why it didn't blow a fuse instead of creating a short that will be impossible to find...
