alright so simply put my friend changed my oil for me (i was late for a date figured he couldn't mess it up) and i know he had issues with the oil filter but when i got back to my car when the date was done my car lights didn't turn on, so i revved my engine and low and behold the lights and everything started working. Well day continues blah blah blah i try to drive it home and my headlights came on but my headlight motor wouldn't put the lights up, brake lights and blinkers wern't working, interior lighting was just gone, and my meters wouldn't budge no matter how fast and and how high i revved my car.

So the next day i replaced my ACC Relay and car interior works again but i have to rev my car when i start it

then later that day my friend brought his voltemeter(sp?) and we checked the voltage the chilton told us to to check. well according to the chilton the wiring harness for the alternator is messed up SO

1) Do you think the wiring harness was shorrted out or is it blocked by oil and other crap.

2) if thats the case how do i go about cleanin the wires, what is the safest way to approach the issue

3) if cleanin doesn't help where can i possibly go to get new alternator wiring so i can drive my car with normal working electrical system3a) sorry if noobish question but would the alternator harness be the engine harness or part of it
