I had a strange problem and wondered if anyone has a clue as to why,

I went into my garage last night and noticed the interior light was on, all the doors were closed and the light switch was on the door setting..

I then switched the light to the "off" position for the night,

in the mornin I switched the setting to the "door" position, closed the door and the light went out, a second later the parking lights flashed and the interior light was on again (kinda like when you unlock the door with the keyless fob) ..did this from the back door,,btw

I then opened the front door and closed it again and the light stayed off..

any clues from the versa guru's..

When you are the car give you a toot when you arm it? If it doesn't then one of your doors maybe still open.

to disable the honk when locking the door: press the open and lock button together for a few second. it is in the manual

Doesn't the Versa have battery run down protection? In Chrysler products I've owned over the past decade, after about 20 minutes, the lights will shut off regardless of whether the doors are left open on not. I'd throught that technology was pretty much standard across the industry by now.

This is why I should have probably read it

The V does have battery protection, but I'm not so sure it applies to dome lights. If you leave you head lights on after 5 minutes it will shut them off. I've left my door opened partially all night in the garage only to come back to the doom light still being on in the morning. In my Dodge, after about 20 mins or so, it will turn off the dome light, but will not turn off the map, vanity mirror, or other accessory lights. It will keep these on till the battery runs out.

Thanks to everyone who responded..seems like the problem went away (for now anyway)..

anyone know why the horn would beep twice when arming or disarming?

and I agree you would think it would have battery protection,

wish I could look at the onwers manual but its in my glovebox which is jammed shut..

That's odd. The horn normally beeps only once. Every time you push the button to arm, the horn beeps. The horn shouldn't beep when you disarm You may want to have that checked out.
