So basically what happened (and I feel like a total dumbass for doing this but hey..) is being the impatient guy I am, I attempted to put in new LEDs behind the instrument cluster - with the battery connected, the keys in the ignition - and the headlight switch....on.

Yeah I know...

Anyway, after figuring out the whole polarity issue, I got bulbs 1, 2, and 3 in and lit! Then I put in bulb 4 and they all went out.

So heres where i'm at now. Warning lamps work - but the other lights do not. Lights on the gear shift are not on. Lights on the radio are not on. Dome, map, and vanity lights still work fine.

I've checked the fuses that would seem to be the most likely subjects, but haven't physically pulled out ALL the others just to check.

One point to note: The compass and clock now stay at full brightness (regardless of dimmer switch position and headlight position)

Considering ALL those lights are coincidently tied together through the dimmer switch I know someone out there with some electrical knowledge is going to know where to start.

ANY and ALL help will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Ok, so let me get more information...

So the following lights do not work, correct?- A/T Shifter Indicator (next to shift lever)- 4WD Dial- Glove box lamp- Ashtray lamp- Hazard Button- Rear Defogger Button- Audio Head Unit Buttons (screen is supposed to dim when headlamps turned on)- A/C auto amp unit buttons (screen supposed to dim when headlamps turned on)

Do your tail lamps and license plate bulbs still operate properly?

Ok all the above have been checked and none are on.

And I believe I was getting brake lights mixed up with tail lights. There are no lights on in the back of the vehicle when the headlights are turned on.

Thanks for helping me out!

Ok, check one more fuse. Check fuse #61 (it's a 10A fuse) in the fuse box in the engine compartment (on the passenger side).

EDIT: That fuse is in the fuse box located on the passenger side of the vehicle, not the driver side. My bad.

I love this forum.

I pulled the fuse out earilier and everything looked fine. But I figured "Meh... since you asked, it can't hurt to check again." I pulled the fuse out and it looked fine; old and dirty by the link was still there. I have some extra fuses so i figured might as well.

It works. Thank you so much - super easy fix - I feel dumb for not seein it before, but thats what this forum is for.

Now i'll ask for one more tip: I'm going to re-attempt the LEDs: what precautions should i take?

Thanks again!
