interior electrical problems,speedo,tach,windows,dash lights etc,SEARCHED 96 s14

i just bought a 96 s14,it was an amazing price so i had to buy it even though i love s13's but anyway,the interior lights dont work,when i turn on my headlights they work and so do the highbeams but the inside dash lights dont come on,the tach and speedo dont work either,brake lights and reverse lights are out also,blinkers too,the car starts runs and drives fine

the guy i got it from took out his battery and i put my old one in and tried to jump it at my house just to get it running then i put the battery cables on for one second saw a spark and i was like im done,ill get a new battery,i put it in turn the key and starts up but the only thing that lights up is where the clock is but it doesnt show the time jjust lights. i dont know if these cars have a fusible link somewhere that could have blown but can someone help me,and i didnt put the battery in backwards or anything im positive and i checked fuses for the interior and their fine

Check for blown fuses in the fuse block located by the dead pedal inside the kick panel.
