Hey all, this is my first post here, and as you might tell from my user name, I drive a Chevy Monte Carlo SS, but my mom got a new Altima Coupe back in January. She had wanted me to clean out the interior and dashboard and such. I was wondering if anyone here had any suggestions on what they would use for the dashboard. The top part that is the textured rubber feeling stuff. When I tried cleaning it, I used some protectant on a microfiber applicator pad, but it just seems to leave white lint everywhere. I tried using a microfiber towel too, but that didn't seem to help that much. What kind of cloth or whatever do you use on your dash? Any other interior cleaning tips would be helpful too.

Thanks

welcome to nico in a strange way mr. chevy driver. i use a water damp micro-fiber cloth with no cleaning solution to clean my dash, seats, interior door panels, center console, arm rest, ect. cleaning solution isn't needed if you hit it a couple times a month.

Thats the main thing. Every car I rent out has the same ruberized texture for the plastic panels now. Cleaning solutions just make things worse, and dont actually allow you to clean the surface at all, just cover up the dirt with a shiny layer. Just use a moist microfiber and scrub hard for those REALLY dirty spots. This even works on my side panels where my shoes leave black marks on the blonde interior lol

For that textured dash i just use a damp microfiber cloth, but on all the actual leather I use black magic 2-in-1 leather care w/ a micro fiber applicator. The 2-in-1 works great. It gives your black leather a beutiful shine that lasts awhile without getting anything on your cloths. It comes in a spray bottle, but i usually just spray it on to the applicator and rub it in. but make sure you use another microfiber cloth and go back over it to take any excess off. This stuff also works great on the the leather door panals and center console.

P.S. Trade that Chevy in for an A/C, you won't regret it.

ashes to ashes, dust to dust, if it wern’t for chevys my tools would rust.

did u know 80 percent of chevys are still on the road... the other 20 percent made it home

Q: How do you double the value of a Chevy?A: Put gas in it.

Q: How is a golf ball different from a Chevy?A: You can drive a golf ball 200 yards.

Q: Why are there sidewalks beside streets?A: So Chevy owners have a safe place to walk home.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll try cleaning with water and a microfiber towel later tonight.

PS - Yes, the Altima Coupe is really nice, but I plan on keeping my Chevy for now. Its my first car and I got it about 4 years ago (and its part of that 20% that made it home from the dealer, lol).

Also, just incase anyone was wondering, my moms Altima is a 2.5 with the CVT, dark gray with black leather interior, and all the options but the navigation system. It's a very nice car, but my only complaint is a lack of visibility out the back. It's pretty fast too, I can't imagine what it would be like with the 3.5.
