Ive got a 2006 M45 with the LOADED!

Ok, I got a quote from my Infiniti dealership to change the interior cabin filter for 155 and some change that included the filter (thank god)

Just curious on some thoughts? I found an interior cabin filter online for 36.95 with free shipping...but didnt know how detailed/difficult it was to install....Can anyone give me some insight on these items?

Where is it located in the vehicle? How Difficult is it to remove/install?Where do you guys buy your online infiniti parts?

on the 03/04 it's behind the glove box. Maybe it's in the same spot. You should probably calm down a bit too, the people on this forum are helpful but most own the 03/04 models.

Just to show you how helpful we are I did the really easy research for you and found your answer on another popular infiniti forum. Took me all of two seconds to search in google. Enjoy your LOADED!I finally got around to changing out the in cabin air filter on my M35x.I thought the entire glove box assembly, including frame needed to be removed. Armed with various phillips drivers, I went to work.

Boy, did I overshoot this project! No tools are needed other than a flat bladed screwdriver used to gently pry off the glove box travel limit cord from the glove box. I removed the lower dash panel cover first, (floorwell light harness unclips from the panel).

The only thing (other than the above travel/stop cord) that secures the glove box is the 3 plastic hinges it sits onto along the bottom of the box. The box is removed by unclipping the travel stop cord & gently unseating the box off the lower 3 hinges! Caution is needed not to twist anything that might break or damage the hinges.

After that...a cover plate detaches exposing the white housing & housing cover that contains the filter.

The Filter housing cover is white brittle plastic with a molded on clip. Careful here also, I can see where I stressed the clip when removing it to get the filter out.

Carefully note how the filter sits into the chamber. The chamber is 2x wider than the filter itself...when you install the filter it falls onto & unevenly sits on the blower wheel cage. The housing door has molded tabs that raises up the filter & keeps it off the floor of the blower wheel cage assembly.

Reassembly of the door back onto the hinges & stop cord went real fast & smooth, door lined up no problem.

All in all, 20 minutes to 1/2 hour tops (if your sipping on a Bloody Mary) now that I see how to remove the glove box door!Modified by Manok at 9:35 PM 1/21/2008
