I have a hatch and i have already stripped and painted the interior. Now i want to get some bars and braces for the interior.

I know there is:- rear upper strut bar- c pillar bar- roll cage (maybe later down the road)

are there any other kinds of braces? and who makes the beefiest ****?

Someone makes a read triangle bar, connects the rear strut towers to the trunk, I think it's the best "single" bar that you can buy as far as stiffening up the chassis. I'll look for it and post up a link. Also there is a floor bar that goes across the floor behind the front seats, I'll look for that too.

Powered by Max is beefy, and BH did a write up with some bars that he said were great. I'll look for that as well lol. I'm bored.

GT SPEC.

Search for it.I did a "write up"

shoot.

everything you asked for, I did a write up for.

for interior stuff, I will point out a few things.

What I have in my car.

Safety21 7 point through dash cage.GT Spec rear tower bar.GT Spec C Pillar Bar.GT Spec trunk brace.

They are all THICK as hell and my car feels really solid now.

Cusco makes great tower bars too. They make the triangle shaped one mentioned earlier.

Do Luck makes some great stuff too. They make the Rear Cross Bar mentioned as well. It goes behind the front seats.

As far as interior bars, that's about it.

i HIGHLY suggest picking up the GT Spec bars.

Front Nismo Power Brace.Jonnie Fraz in the Fabricator's Marketplace makes a similar bolt in one.

Edit : +1 to check out BH's write up on that brace. I want one myself.

Yeah I forgot about the power brace/johnny fraz brace. Also look into fender braces. Brian did a installation picture thread about those too haha.

I would figure they DO.

They bolt into the location where the rear bumper reinforcement bolts to.

another thing: will any c pillar bar work on a zenki chassis?

on the GT spec site, it says the c pillar bar does not work on the 89 90. is this true for all c pillar bars?

Well, that info came from me (more or less).

I have been told that the 1989 and 1990 models lacked a certain bracket where they bar mounts up to.( for each side). It is a real simple bracket. I think I even took pictures of it in my write up.

You could probably buy them from the dealer or find them at a junkyard.

all you need is the rear seatbelt bracket. just use one, doens't matter which side its on. thats how i have my c pillar bar and it works fine

chris28- i didn't think pbm had any braces, or did i miss that?

White Comet - Weird. For mine (and any other one I could imagine) you need one bracket per side.I still don't understand how you say you only need one bracket. If that were the case, one side of the car would mount to the bracket.... what would the other side mount to?

Of course, the other side is just the same...

Pretty basic. The bracket bolts into the car with a 14mm bolt. The bar bolts to the bracket with a provided 17mm bolt.I'm not really sure what the bracket is for in the stock form. I never looked or thought to look back then.

This is how the GT Spec brace mounts. For what it's worth, this is the only C pillar bar that I think is worth a damn. (There IS one more, but it made by a company called Rash Facture in Japan)

I painted the bracket gold as you can tell.

hmm odd. the bar i got isn't worth a damn then, its an ebay bar that said its for the coupes only. ddgsxr did a review on the bar and it seems decent. when mrgreeneyes hatch smashed into a pol, it was very apparent that the c pillar bar helped since the impact was from the side. the glass broke before the bar did, and he's got the same bar as me.

actually heres a link to the barhttp://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...A1318

this one's for the hatch, but there wasnt one for the hatch when i got mine so i made it work.

heres mine

I had one similar to that in my S14.When I got the Gt Spec one, it made that old look like a pencil compared to a mag lite.

I used to have tower bars. Then I realize they weren't tight at all and they just sloppily moved around. I pulled them off and got too lazy to put them back on.

Never noticed a difference anyway.
