ok i'm kinda new to a forum setting so here goes...,

i own a 95 nissan pathfinder XE-V6 (VG30E engine) i am in the process of buying a 95 nissan SE-V6 kingcab pickup and had an interesting idea...., i would like to drop a VG30DETT in place of the VG30E that rests there now. I do already understand i need to aquire the FSM (field service manual) for both vehicles so i could repin the ECU harness in the pickup to correctly operate the VG30DETT or so i could use the ECU from the z32 donor vehicle. The only other question or problem i am having is will the transmission bolt up to the transfer case( i.e. the 2wd models of the pathfinder and pickup use an extension housing to take up the "slack" of the driveline since there is no transfercase) i will check back on this is a couple of days (4 atmost) keep in mind i do have moderate amount of mechanical knowledge( automatics are still a mystery to me) thanks for all your responses.

http://www.300zx-twinturbo.com/cgi-bin/manual.cgi Is the online 300zx service manual.

http://www.courtesyparts.com/p...r.pdf Is the online Pathfinder service manual in .pdf format. I found some Pathfinder manuals in paper copy for sale, but as far as the 300zx goes, you might as well print the manual out. They are so hard to come by and expensive as well. My friend would nut himself if he ever heard of this being done (he's big into trucks and loves my Z). My only thoughts would be engine/transmission mounts and fitment of the turbos. Not to mention the VG30DETT is wider than the VG30E, is it not? Then again, I remember there was PLENTY of engine bay to play with in the Pathfinder that my buddy had. This definitely sounds like a cool swap.

Would you be using the transmission that is already in the Pathfinder or swapping that as well? (or converting to 5spd? )

EDIT: That was the Pathfinder OWNER'S MANUAL, which is, of course, no help to an engine swap. Pretty much every FSM can be found HERE.

well ace the 2nd pathfinder i'm going to do this build on is already a 5spd man but i'm not totally sure about the gearing ratios between the 2 of them (300zx - Pathfinder) i have posted this idea/question 3 seperate times on the forumboard, i have been getting some good feedback and giving some in return. In reference to your friend the whoile idea revolves around a blue oval or bowtie V8 killer, also any local "donut lovers" wouldn't think twice at looking twards a pathfinder as a vehicle that could roast them either

Have you considered using the 5 spd or auto transmission (which ever one you have for the TT engine) from the VG30DETT, with a custom driveshaft to the diff???

Obviously fitment issues for transmission tunnel and shifter linkage would have to be addressed, but an idea...

the trans will bolt up, the flywheel might be an issue, might need to run the vg30de flywheel and clutch to fit inside your bellhousing, the engine mounts are very close, it'll take small amount of slotting, as for oil pan accessories, piping etc it's all gonna be custom
