i just went to the bank a few minutes ago and on my way back this honda prelude reved at me at a stoplight. i didnt really pay him anymind at first because i didnt really want to race anyone with my car leaking coolant and all, but then he reved again so i was like what the heck, light turned green and i launched on him and killed him bad off the line, all of a sudden i heard a pop and he came up on me hella fast and passed me up, i floored it to try and keep up but he was pulling on me and then i heard a huge bang and his hood flew up and all this smoke went everywhere, i braked hard and he ended up going into a curb. i went over to make sure he was cool, he was fine but i dont know about his car.

im assuming he used nitrous and blew his engine, but im not sure exactly what happened does anyone have a clue as to what could have happened.

No the M3 wasn't racing haha.

The car that blew up was a GSX as stated above. GSX being a turbocharged AWD eclipse.

Hey Hey Hey, a fellow san bernardinian! ya the sb, hasnt got any better its gotten worse, its like in the top ten in america for crime rates now... kinda scary but i dont live in the bad part but i do end up going into moscoy for work sometimes... the last car i had got shot at once, but i had 2 12' subwoofers beating in my trunk, which was kinda asking to get shot at cuz i was blasting my music really loud on the east end of moscoy (BAD NEIGHBORHOOD!!!), but yea a long story short some guy ran after my car and shot out my back window...

but yea, v-tec sucks, i normally wouldnt race him but when he reved again and looked at me i just felt i should teach him a lesson about z's WE DONT **** AROUND!

All hating aside, you do realize that honda builds absolutely fantastic motors and if they have done a mix of FF and FR cars instead of all their FF cars back in the day....they'd be killing everyone. Don't be ignorant and knock honda motors because a lot of stupid people own and drive their cars.

True. VTEC is kinda like a really crappy turbo. It is quite fun to drive when done right and sounds awesome

I didnt literally mean v-tech in that way...it was more of a joke on his car not v-tech, im sure they give nice performance... tho im not completly sure what it does... it does something with the cams or something like altering the timing of the camshafts so your valve timing changes and they get better performance throughout your rpm range or something...

I have sucessfully run an honda on Nitrous, it's the cheapest safest easiest power added, it's also the easiest to get greedy and blow **** up, which I did lesson learned

Turbo's are just as dangerous, you can't put 20psi on a 30 year old motor with cast pistons, turbo's are the better all around power added, but for that easy go fast fix or to get to that next plateau, nothing wrong with Nitrous

But unlike nitrous, turbo's are 100% predictable (AFR wise unless you have a crappy wastegate). Laughing gas should stay in the dentist's office or in F&F movies, not in your car. At least that's my opinion. Turbo's FTW!!!!!!
