I would normally post this under, Infiniti Speeding Stories, but I wanted everyone to take a look at it. Here it goes:

So I work for a pretty big law firm that is working on a very big corporate case. We had a hearing today at 11am and had to have so many freakin exhibits it was crazy. I must have been copying for 7 hours straight including the end of yesterday. Anyway, we were constantly making changes as we were copying, etc etc so it was needless to say very hectic. At 10:55am we finally finished copying, all the attorneys were at the courthouse waiting for us so once again my Q45 is called to duty.

We load the car up w/ the boxes of papers and scream out of the parking lot. I'm doing about 65 mph in a 30 downtown, taking all my shortcuts, feeling like a bad@$$ as the woman in the passenger seat is like 'faster'. :) Next thing I know I'm 1/8 mile away from the courthouse when a police officer pulls behind me w/ lights flashing. (guess he didn't like me rolling through that stop sign).

So me being the intelligent person I am, didn't stop but continued on to the courthouse, made it there, got out of the car and the cop yelled, "freeze". I stopped and said, "look, ticket me with whatever you want, I'm going to give these to my boss and I'll be right out". I think he was too confused to do anything. So the woman and I ran in, gave the attorneys their files just as their case was called. Whew!

I got back out and the officer was waiting for me. He goes, "Do you know why I pulled you over?" I said, "Yes, I didn't stop at the stop sign but my boss needed some files for a very important hearing that's taking place right now. I'm very sorry." He said, "Who's your boss?" So I told him and he said, "Oh...well be careful next time. See ya" So we got back in the car and smoothly cruised back the office.

Crazy huh?

The power of the Q at it's best.

Actually, that's a technique referenced by Dr. George J. Thompson in one of my favorite books, "Verbal Judo". I highly recommend it.

I wish I would have known about that technique when I was speeding home because my grandma was about to DIE. But no stupid cop...

I might read some law books on the side, but no way I'm gonna make a career out of it.

No, it was in Wichita. Don't f*** with those Lawrence cops unless you have some connections. They don't put up with much crap being as it's such a party town.

I will have to remember that. The only problem is I work in corporate and IP law and I don't think that there is too much weight in those arenas to help out. Oh well.
