Interesting Shop Story, need input

It sounds to me like his setup wasn't pefect when he brought it in, but the shop obviously had some issues with the car. I would sue them for negligence and depending on the state it will either be comparative or contributory negligence. How much money he can receive from the shop in court is dependent on how the state determines fault in negligence cases.

Seeing as how they tuned it w/ the SDS when they originally installed their turbo kit, I don't know how they could not know that the CAS wasn't used for the timing. You'd think a reputable shop would know about the SDS using magnetic crank triggers instead. Sounds like the shop's incompetence is what charged the damage. Hopefully he (or his lawyer) can convince a third party that this is the case. I hope he doesn't get screwed over by them.

Okay, I don't really know exactly what SDS and CAS and this stuff is, but I trust you guys do and I really don't worry about it that much just yet, at least until I decide to do work to that sort of thing. Anyway, I think its common sense here. They were testing your car after work they had done and it blew, it obviously ran fine before, and therefore it is their fault. Good luck with this man!
