Interesting race with Mercedes

Last night I raced a brand new Mercdes SLK230. It was a buisness man suit and tied behind the wheel just cruising along and we got to a stoplight and he revved like he wanted to go. So I looked back at him, and he revved again. I revved in return, the light turned green and we went at it. I got a pretty decent launch out of slipping the clutch and we held dead even to about 70mph where we cut it off. We went to the next light, raced again, and got the same results, this time just slightly edging each other out as we shifted gears. At the next light he was visibly disappointed that his $45,000 Superior German-engineered supercharged speed machine was only in the ranks of a slighly modded 15 year old 240sx. We talked for a moment at the light, I made a U turn, and drove home. It made me feel proud.

I honestly though I was gonna get majorly Owned racing this guy, but when he and I were dead even and noone was pulling, I must say I was quite pleased. He wasn't a crappy driver either, he got a solid launch and perfect shifts in each race. Anyway, thought I'd share!

what mods have you done?

I doubt it was the supercharged model if u were keeping up with him in a stock 240.

the supercharged model puts out like 300+ hp and the non still puts out 198+

the new slk is not a 3.2; the designation has been changed to slk350. the current amg variant is now powered by a 5.5l na v8, which produces 355hp. the supercharged slk32 was a previous model.

IIRC there is no such thing, current or last gen.

not in the SLK. I think they used the NA 2.3L as the base motor in the C-class.

And I dont think SLKs came with manual trannies either...

Yes, the one I raced was the original base 2.3 liter. I wouldn't have bothered trying to race it if it was any of the other SLK's. They'd very obviously and knowingly blow my doors off.

Mods I've got are i/h/e, motor built to high comp(e pistons in de block)no emissions, and lsd.

Like I said, I thought I'd stand no chance, but I was quite suprised.
