When I went recently to re-insure the 240, I was able to qualify for CLASSIC CAR status! Hehehe ... State Farm considers any car beyond 10 years old that is in either showroom condition or ground up restored, a "classic". What this means is that I was able to lower my rate substantially because of the condition of the car. Also, I only have 78K on the odometer which is pretty dern good for a 15 year old car. As long as I don't drive more than 7500 miles a year, only drive it to shows and keep it garaged.

I just really did'nt think about my '96 240 being THAT old!

Exactly ... it's not my everyday car since I use my Suburban for work and to haul the family.

I pay 450 a year for full coverage with an agreed upon value of $50,000. so if my car is ever stolen, totaled I get 50 grand.

Yeah I have insured as a collector car, driven 3000 miles or less a year. $500,000 liability coverage, Collision and comp, no deductible. They know it has a LS swap, body work, and a lot of goodies. The value is agreed upon.
