GT-R-Premium AWD - this is through State Farm BTW 0 miles on odometer.

For "Pleasure" 0-7500 miles per year Limited Tort (its a PA thing) and 500 deductibles 495.75 / 6-months

For "communte to and from work/school" Greater than 12K per year, 15 miles commute each way 5 days a week, 500/500 limited-tort basically the exact same as I have on my daily-driver the Altima Coupe its: 605.58 / six-months..that's really reasonable, I thought it'd be way more...hell my A/C with that coverge is 395/ six months...

Oh well, not gonna happen anyway, then again do I really need a house?just killin time.

Oh and just for comparison, 2009 Corvette ZR-1 as daily driver is 902.75 / 6-months, lol

thats just plain nonsense... Im sure the inside cabin space, and a few other nonsense statistics are the reasoning for it.

Your location etc has a lot to do with it too, but in your case all others are held equal.

I wonder what theyd run you on the 463 hp CL 63, or the IS-F... the extra 2 doors make a big difference i think.

Zip Code 15108

30/M Single,

Minimum on everything except deductible 500/500

Pretty Clean Driving record, not perfect but nothing in the last 3 years, only major claim I ever had was when I was 19, but it was with State Farm so they would know...

When I lived in the hellhole that is Jersey AllState wanted almost 3K per year for a 1994 Eclipse, I ended up gong with NJM (Non-profit) and my 350Z insurance went to 1400 / year...thank goodness PSEG was a member of NJM.

Anyway these quotes today, I used my PA driver's license number which is linked to my SSN...so it should be good, it comes up with the correct amount I pay for the A/C...so take it for what its worth here are a few others

For the 2009 IS F , same thing daily driver: 567.85 / 6 month

2009 Z06 - 676.43 / 6 month

2009 Titan SE 4x4 - 462.54 / 6 month

Not surprisingly, Bugatti is not an option, but this is:

2009 Bentley Continental GT-Speed - 1088.67 / 6 months

2008 Ferrari F430 Scuderia - 1300.47 / 6 months

and finally:

2008 Kia Rio - 360.72 / 6 months WTF?

Accidents that occur outside of 5 years (3 for most insurers) cannot impact your rate. And other insurance companies know the accidents you had wtih another insurer (we're sneaky like that).

But damn, that's pretty darn cheap. Try using real limits though, like $250,000 liab, etc....i'm curious how that would show up.

iu thought he did use real limits... but again, those are based on your net worth.. for the un-initiated...

If you have 400k of coverage, that means if xyz happens and you cause 500k of damage, your responsible personally for the 100k difference. In which case youd pay up, or file for bankrupcy...

If you have a 100k car, your gonna want high limits, because your most likley a baller.

To let younger drivers know the REAL cost of tickets....... I was paying 1100/6mo with my mustang for a while because of my driving record... with a 1000 deductable, and i never made a claim, ever.

I don't carry high liability limits and I carry limited tort now, I have supplemental insurance through work so I need only carry state minimums for the most part (yes I am giving up some of my 'suing power" but I don’t care. that may change with a family...but for MAXIMUM coverage here's what it is:

I'm just doing GT-R with 500 deductibles and MAX coverage on everything else Full-Tort and daily-driver:

Tort: Full-TortLiability - Bodily Injury / Property Damage: $1,000,000/$1,000,000/$1,000,000 Uninsured Motor Vehicle - Non-Stacking: $1,000,000/$1,000,000 Underinsured Motor Vehicle - Non-Stacking: $1,000,000/$1,000,000 Medical Payments: $100,000 2009 NISSAN GT-R Comprehensive Deductible: $500 Collision Deductible: $500

That is 1066.04 / 6 months and that is insane amount of coverage, now going to a good amount somewhere in the middle:

Tort: Full Liability - Bodily Injury / Property Damage: $100,000/$300,000/$100,000 Uninsured Motor Vehicle - Non-Stacking: $100,000/$300,000 Underinsured Motor Vehicle - Non-Stacking: $100,000/$300,000 Medical Payments: $5,000 2009 NISSAN GT-R Comprehensive Deductible: $500 Collision Deductible: $500

That is 799.63 / 6 months, can go limited tort for 723.59 / 6 months

Like I said just doing it for S and G's but I am pretty amazed at how affordable insurance on some of those cars is, I mean even 2K a year on a ZR-1 is decent and that's as a daily driver, throw homeowners another car and take it down to "pleasure" not bad at all...then again if you live in a major metro area (Pittsburgh does not count, lol) than throw those out the window...I imagine its gotta be 5K in Jersey for full coverage

Even if you have a 25k car, you are going to want decent limits. There is no limit on the amount of bodily damage you can cause to someone else if you are at fault in an accident. Liability claims can run in the millions based upon the damage inflicted, and you don't want to expose your own livelyhood to something like that if you don't have the proper amount of coverage.

Tickets are subjective by state, ticket type, occurance date, and other factors. You can't say that your insurance will go up "x" after a ticket - there's a lot of background things going on.

I'm pretty sure when I was talking to my agent they explained to me that the displacement of the engine was used when determining insurance rates. This was when I was buying my civic. The Si actually had cheaper insurance than an EX because the displacement of the engine was less, even though it was sportier and had more horses. That might explain why the vette is more expensive to insure, even though the GT-R could easily get you in more trouble.

Not true! A 7.0 ZO6 is cheaper then a STI (4cyl turbo) for me...There probably not enough info yet for them to properly rate the GTR. Same thing happened with my 400hp GTO (was rated as a Grand Prix) then the insurance company's got smart
