Hi everyone

well, there's a while,i was looking for an aftermarket crankshaft for my ca18det

last year,i found a manufacturer,that can make them,with 8 counterweights!!

so,for pricing,it will be around 1600$

i know,it's expensive, but you will be one in the world to get a very rare crankshaft with these specifications(8 CW and fully balanced,forged,etc....)

so,i wanna know WHO will be interested about this proposition

the manufacturer must have 5 strong order to make them(I'm from France, and here, they will be approximately 3 to be interested)

I think that i will order them in January/February.

Tell me what you think about it

Cheers and Merry XMas

There is a company in the UK that already makes one. The price is much higher though.

I'm not interested, but good luck and free bump.

That's a stroker though, it is not fully counterweighted as far as I know. They would encounter the same trouble our special crank does. The shorter stroke of the CA18 might allow the counterweights to swing though.

I did not know that. I assumed it was a full counter. I would be down, but I have a larger displacement CA that is the next project on my list.

That's a rip off if you ask me. For the price they're asking you could easily buy a whole CA20 motor, pull the crank, have it balanced and modified for the DOHC timing cog and pump and still spend less money!
