Hey hows it going... im new to this forum but have been posting on NASIOC.COM for like 2yrs now with my 04' STI neway...

I'm looking into buying a g35 coupe within the next couple months and was hoping someone can answer or clarify a few things for me!

1. I'm looking into getting an 2004 or 2005 are there any major differences in the 2 years... minus the brembo kit on the 04..??

2. Wat are some noteable problems i should look for when i test drive the car if any??

3. Obviously i'll be buying a manual.. i mean if you dont u lose 90% of the fun!! Besides stick, what are some other features youd recommend looking for in the car.. example is the nav worth it? should i find one with a lip kit, or just purchase a clean aftermarket kit? Things like that!!

Anything else that comes up that you may think of please let me know!!! Thanks in advance...

well there are major differences to the interior as the '05 is completely redesigned. Better buttons (knobs not the poorly designed up and down buttons on the '04. I think that is the main change and you are right no Brembo's on the '05. Exterior is about the same.

If you choose an '05 I would look for one with Premium, Aero, and Nav packages. That should also get you the sport suspension and the ground effects and then you are pretty much loaded for what comes on the car.

Mine is a diamond graphite 2005 coupe and is fully loaded. I travel around town alot meeting with clients and I personally think that the navigation is very well designed and accurate. If you want Nav then I would suggest it.

It would be nice if the nav was touch screen at least or voice activated but they may have fixed that on the '06. Seems like I read an article talking about voice activation on the '06 but it may have been the M I was reading about. I can't remember.

I will tell you that some of the cars rattle like a tin can. Small things like interior rattles from the sunroof area, front grill in the dash, center console, etc. While these have proven to be VERY annoying to me I finally isolated the last rattle and had it fixed last week and the car is now as quite as it should have been when I purchased it almost two years ago.

Maintenance is not cheap on these but if you follow the schedule you should have no problems. Very well made cars. Also, tires are not cheap either, however, I still have the original tires on mine and I have 24,300 miles on the car. My service advisor says that at the rate I am going I will probably get about 30-35K miles out of them which is pretty good for that tire. I think most of the people on here are racers and burn them up pretty quickly. I don't race.

Anyway, I hope that helps. Good luck finding one I think you will really like it.

How did you isolate this issue? Mine rattles/ when the the sunroof blind is open on uneven roads. It just drives me crazy. Maybe I should take it to the dealer.
