To Altima Coupe owners:

Tanabe Pro FIVE Coilovers: http://tanabe-usa.com/coilovers/five.asp

Tanabe Electric Active Suspension: http://tanabe-usa.com/coilovers/TEAS.asp

The Pro FIVEs are also compatible with our TEAS unit which unlike other systems on the market, allow for the driver to make automatic and manual adjustments. The TEAS unit is able to make automatic adjustments in dampening according to vehicle speed. This mean that you can have the best of both worlds with the TEAS unit automatically adjusting a soft dampening setting for daily driving and more aggressive dampening for spirited driving.

The problem with making coilovers is because most people don't want to shell out a good $1k. Thus most companies hesitate to make them.

So the reason of creating this thread will help determine if Tanabe is willing to make the coilovers if there is enough interest. Also this is to help with aftermarket parts for the Altima Coupe.

They have already done measurements from the previous R&D. And Its being requested to the R&D team in Japan.

If you really wan't to get this going faster email them at [email protected]

I will keep you guys/gals updated with news if available.

I don't expect a huge amount of votes. Because the majority would want springs.

PLEASE KEEP THIS TOPIC TO TANABE INFORMATION RELATED ONLY

Thank you everyone.

Both are well known reputable companies whose been in the business for more than 20+ years. Both have very good quality and you can't really go wrong with either company. I am trying to push Tanabe since I have been in contacted with them in person/email/phone.

Also the TEAS is more advance than Tein's EDFC. But it only applies if your looking into getting one.

I would definitley be interested in some. Not sure exactly what they do but seems really good to me. Comes with a nice control box to impress all your friends. Is this just to control suspension and ride stiffness? This doesnt allow you to lower the car also right?Anyone have an idiots guide to coil overs and springs and whatever else goes with them?

Coilovers are adjustable unlike lowering springs.

If you get TEAS, you are able to manually adjust or use its auto configuration to your likings from inside the car.

Without TEAS you can still adjust it, but not from the inside. Therefore you adjust it from the outside of the car. And its pretty simple actually, just twist the knob to what you want.

Seems to ba a real cool product. But let me know if I'm clear on this. IF you install these, you can manually adjust not just the height but the damping of the shocks? So during the summer, I can select the "sport" mode, the shocks will lower itself remotely and I can adjust the "stiffness"? or does the TEAS only adjust the stiffness or damping remotely?..and you still need to manually adjust the height?

I believe from what I have read you can adjust the height with the module, this looks like an awesome (although expensive) product. I can lower the car and come winter raise it back up to stock so its not a snow plow.

I am sorry for the Sedan owners. The best thing I can do is probably get a strut bar from Tanabe, since our engine bay is identical. But I am not 100% correct.

You can say that for most companies who don't want to make aftermarket parts for the coupes or sedans. Sedan owners should check back sometime in March as Tanabe will have a list of cars for R&D. But I don't guarantee it will be up there. I am just giving you guys a heads up. The Tanabe R&D team comes down every 2-4 months.

Also I recommend emailing them if they are interested and explaining the details and situation.
