Intercoolers?

So im a total noob . and i was wondering if intercoolers replace the radiators or ther only for the exhaust gases to go throu?

Neither...actually. Only intake air.

The radiator is for cooling the water that flows through your motor to keep it cool.

The intercooler cools the air that comes out of the turbo before it enters the motor. When the turbo compresses the air it heats it to 300ish degree's depending on the turbo.

There is no cooler for the exhaust.
