certain companies sell intercooler kits for the application, so it includes a intercooler, and piping and clamps....ie greddy vspl, rspl, (and i know there is one more)blitzhks

then companies make 'cores' and u get the piping custom made if you go that route.

If your looking for a bargain, starion fmic are pretty prevalent on Ebay, if you can trust them, lol. I think they generally run between 100-250 depending on condition. It wont bolt right up but with some custom piping you will be ready to up the boost.

i wouldnt go over 10-11 psi on the starion intercoolers...the greddy rspl is great for the SR, because you can run high boost, so you are set when you upgrade turbo, etc....i dont know the exact level they will become inefficient, but i know people are running 25psi, and over 400hp on those ic's....i wouldnt trust the starion IC's for over 270hp, but thats just me, i could be wrong....

10-11 psi on the starion intercoolers? I thought you should be able to max out the stock turbo with that intercooler. Maybe I'm thinking of a supra intercooler, which run about 300. Please correct me if I'm wrong so I dont confuse myself later.

Don't get the MK III supra intercooler, they have like a 3 or 4psi pressure drop just in the core and the flow on them SUCKS. We replaced the one in my buddy's MKIII with a MKIV IC, and 2in PVC pipes and gained 6psi at the same wastegate setting! The MKIV intercoolers are nice, and good to over 400hp but they are sidemount and could be a pain to position.

NPR intercoolers are also a decient choice for lower to mid boost levels if you re-do the end tanks. I had a Starion FMIC with custom 2 in endtanks and that was good to 18psi on my CA. It worked allright, didn't cool as well as what I have now but also cost half as much.

Roadrace engineering.com also has some good deals on cores if you want to check them out.

there's a guy over on freshalloy, goes by the name hssani, who has a starion ic, and is running 270 hp at the wheels on a n s14 blacktop. I've heard of starion owners using the stock intercooler even into the 12's. The only thing is to get it cut and rewelded as said before to use bigger piping and have universal fit. And I've also heard that the 14 row later ones are more efficient than the 16 row earlier ones, but I haven't seen any proof of that.

What do you mean when you say redo the Isuzu NPR intercooler end tanks. What PSI range can an Isuzu NPR handle?
