hey guys i was just wondering ..... im shoppin for cheap intercooler piping and i found a place where i can get a bunch of cold air cherapo intakes for next to nothing and i mean like under 10 bucks for 5 intakes and i fgured i would chop em up and use em as my intercooler piping but both my intercooler and t25 turbo have like 2" or less inlet and outlet holes and the intake piping is 3 inches im pretty sure, ..... would haveing 3 inch piping and then adapting it down to 2" mess up performance? would it be better to spend like 5 or 6 times the amount of money to get 2"-2.25" piping?

hows the physics work here fellas i would think if i had bigger piping i would have more lag but i dont know if thats how it works or not so thats why i asked

i think one of the things is it would disrupt the consisten flow/speed of the air. Ideally you want to have the same piping throughout, but it probably won't be too bad. Just make sure you have really good couplers/adapters.

i used part of my hs intake for my IC cold pipe. if you can get them for that cheap then i say go for it. you will need a reducer hose clamp to connect it to your turbo and i think the TB is like 2.75 so you will need a reducer there too.

The cheap ebay crx cold air intakes are 2.5" they go for like 30 bucks and you get a couple of nice aluminum mandrel bends for cheap.

Just think that you have to fill all the piping you install from the turbo to the TB. If the outlet is 2" and you use 3", then there is some room to fill. That results in lag. IDK how noticable it is, but it does exist.
