So I am gonna be stuck with the stock IC until I can afford to do a FMIC. I hear everyone calling them "heat sinks" and I cant imagine they get much air. If I was to make a scoop of some kind do you think it would be benificial at all? I know it sounds ricey but it wouldnt be anything too big, just to get some air flow to the IC. Is it a good idea or should I just leave it until I can afford a FMIC???

To cool down the stock IC you either need to mount a huge blower in front of it or just tear off the driver side fender. :D

I don't think the work is worth it, just try to find a better cooler.

about the size of a sheet of paper...i think. i might be a little bit generous saying that. it has about the same cooling effectiveness too. of course its much thicker than a sheet of paper, but you get the idea.

Z31's here never came with intercoolers.

The hood scoop is to help take heat away from the turbo itself.

But anyway, im running the crappy sidemount. The same crappy sidemount that helped my blow my headgasket when I ran 17 psi on it.

Just stick to 12 psi and under and you will be fine.

if you need a sidemount intercooler for now, try a DSM. Folks have taken 3200lb cars into the lo 12s on em (with outlets enlarged).not bad for $100 pc
