The 3"x12"x24" Hybrid intercooler I got was a tough fit on my Kouki. I drove around with it hanging kinda low for about three weeks. After the bottom mounting bolts kept on hitting the ground, I decided I had to do something about it.
I had already trimmed off the weld seam on the back of the bumper in order to get it to fit, but I couldn't get it any higher because it was running into the vertical support for the hood latch. So, I cut a piece out of that support and was able to raise the intercooler up 1-1/4". I used an air-powered 3" cutoff wheel to cut a "backward 7" shaped piece out of it, then smoothed and painted the expose edges. It looks perfect, and my intercooler doesn't bottom out any more.
