Intercooler Question...

I have a SMIC on my S13 right now and wanna upgrade to a FMIC. The thing is I still wanna keep my SMIC piping because it looks much cleaner, also I don't wanna relocate the battery. I was wondering what kind of intercooler I could use that would still let me keep my SMIC piping. I saw the intercooler shown in the pics below for sale a while ago and was wondering if something like it would work?

I've seen some DSM intercoolers similar to that. It'd be too easy to use the core and have a shop fabricate up the rest of the piping.

Why you would want an intercooler that the 'hot' side touches the 'cold' side is beyond me. Ebay IC piping from cxracing is actually very nice considering the price man. I say think about FMIC. Don't be afraid to cut holes for IC piping.
