Anyways, I am getting ready to do my intercooler piping on my RB. first off i have a greddy intake, Q45 TB and a Q45 Maf.

My question is, should i run the 3.5in IC piping off the Q45 TB down to the maf, and then 3.5in from the MAF to the Intercooler reducing down to a 3in coupler to attach to the intercooler? the reason i am thinking that is cause i dont want to run 2.5 inch (standard size IC piping) then have to expand up to 3.5 inch for my q45 maf, because wouldnt that cause turbulence? wouldnt it be better to run the same size pipe as the q45 maf and the Throttle body? or does it matter?

also another question, for anyone using a q45 maf, what did you do for a maf adapter to bolt up to the intercooler piping? i know one side of the maf can be handled with a coupler, but the other side has the 4 bolt holes.. what should i do for an adapter?

thanks.

btw i realize the z32 is better than the q45 but the q45 is fine for my goals.

All good questions, not too sure a lot of people do blow through on here. I used 2.75 piping for my intercooler but I used a different maf with an adapter flange that welded to the intercooler pipe.

yea im just worried about using a smaller IC piping than my MAF since im doing blow through, and just going from say 2.5 inches up to 3.5 inches (size of q45 maf) but i may be wrong, i know im gonna have to come off the Throttle body down to the maf with a 3.5 inches since both are that size but what about from the intercooler to the MAF? should i run 3.5 all the way through or would i be ok expanding from 2.5 to 3.5?

The q45 maf is marginally better than the stocker as you know.

IMHO run 3.5" piping all the way to limit turbulence. I really doubt it adds any real lag.

Good luck!
