I checked the sticky, and nothing there. Also, this is not a topic that can be easily searched. Can I see some installed pics of intercooler piping. Also, the best description you have. I need to make my own, and am wondering the best way to do it. I also have flush head lights, and so have thought about going through there. Also, the battery will be relocated. Please give me any and all info that you can.

is nico pic hosting down for everyone or just me?

anyway, I used exhaust piping for mine, got it bent at a muffler shop, but some bends were too tight, so you have to cut and weld. I have my own welder, so it wasnt a big deal. Also, im running blow through MAF setup. the cold pipe came through the battery tray, and I had to remove my windshield washer fluid resevoir. The hot pipe went down through the original hole. Heres the cold side:

I still have washer fluid. Here are the only pics I have at the time, but I'll get more maybe tomorrow after work.

Oh, btw, this is 2" pipe from turbo to FMIC and 2.75" pipe from FMIC to TB. I plan on changing this with the new engine to 2.5" pipe all the way through.

Which mani/turbo are you running there. I really want to clock my turbo like yours, facing the fender instead of to the ground like KAT's (no offense)

Actually i want my hotpipe exactly like yours, minimal bends and welds.

Not sure if i can do that style with my revhard/t04 combo. Anyone else chime in?

You can do that with any combo. It is just a matter of reclocking the compressor housing. KA, can you get some pics of the pipe at the battery area and where it goes into the fender at the driver's fender. That is really my concern.

Do you have pics. The reason I made this post is because I am about to make my pipe, and was going to make cut outs below the headlight, but wanted to see how everyone else was doing it.

Did you have to lessen the amount of fluid?

question..when people go blow thru..people say you need at least 6" to 12" of straight pipe infront of the maf.. HOW do you fit even 6" of straight pipe from the fmic opening to the tb?

i just realized that after seeing some of you guys' setups...

chezdik, are you planning on welding everything yourself?if you use alumnized steel.. you could probably tig or mig everything and it'd probably look pretty clean + hold well.

if ya kno how to weld aluminum and have a some money aside for the aluminum piping.. you can always go that-a-way.

Um no.

the only reason you can do that (face compressor outlet towards fender) is when you have a manifold made where it situates the compressor more towards the front of the car. Only then will you have clearance for the silicon coupler to hot pipe in front of the strut tower.

The only mani i've seen that can do this is the IAP one. Maybe the JGS since they put the flange so far forward on the log. Anyone have a revhard know if its possible to point towards the fender and clear strut tower as well?

Here is a pic with the iap manifold and GT32... I rotated the turbo housing so its aimed down...best way to do it if you ask me...

How are you entering the fenders to get to the front?

You only have to do that on a draw-through setup because the spinning impeller creates a vortex which throws off the readings of the MAFS. After the compressor, there is no vortex.

Um Yes.

There are 5 or 6 bolts on the back of the compressor housing that make it adjustable. Not only is it possible, but it is necessary in order to make sure that the oil goes in and out the way that it should.

oh..so on a blow thru.. ( maf on the cold side.. thats after the IC near the TB, right?)you dont have to worry about distance from bends or anything?..

if thats the case... neat.. that would help if i ran an open bov..
