I have recently found a core that i want for my KAET project and I am wondering if piping from a greddy kit designed for an s13 sr would work with my topmount. I read at ka24de development that in theory a sr20 s13 piping would work with a low port KA with no problem.

Also are there any sites selling IC piing or complete front mount kits for a KAT?

thanks for the replies everyone!

Edit: would a ka24de FMIC kit like this one http://www.240sxmotoring.com/grvsforka.html work on a ka24et?

if it doesn't fit perfectly i bet it can be corrected easily with an extra u bend and a coupler or two...

my friends greddy kit for his del sol is pretty fitted for that manifold and intercooler combo... but if he upgraded toa larger ic, or smaller or whatever the difference could be corrected with extra piping, or by cutting the existing pipe.

i put together my own kit for my 240, so the intercooler piping was taken care of with 3 u-bends, and a few feet length of silicon coupler hose. intercooler piping is easy to find on ebay, for the most part, depending on the size you are looking for. just make sure you are buying aluminum, not steel...

something like this would work...http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...38634

sounds good... mine ended up costing me about $130 all together... you'll be hard pressed to find aluminum ic piping for less than $100 for everything... it's possible i'm sure but not probable. good luck.

that link i gave you up at the top to the ebay auction for ic piping... that's a common price for a non specific do it yourself style kit... if you want a brand name kit as you know it's more expensive. name brands like greddy include everything you need to bolt it up to their intercooler and their turbo setup with their manifold, you know what i mean? you're looking at $200 plus for a brand name kit's ic piping, and if you get a do it yourself kit you're looking to save between $50 and $100 depending on what kind of deals you get.

the other thing to consider is that nissan decided to make their throttle plate and idle air passage two seperate openings, so a diy kit won't allow you to have your idle air passage hooked up... i made a little thing at the throttle body that has a bung for my idle air (i bought a metal exhaust reducer (2.5" diameter to 2.25") that accomodates the size of ic piping and then cut a hole and welded a small pipe on it that is comparable to the size of the idle air opening. then since the ka's throttle plate is a 3" opening i bought a 2.5" to 3" coupler for that. i've had to do the same for the actual intercooler also because it's 3" opening on the end tanks and my ic piping is only 2.25". i routed valve cover ventilation over to the intake side.

so with all of this done, and of course i put in all the labor including the welding and such, i spent around $130, maybe a little more... it was cheaper than a brand name kit but if i bought a brand name kit it wouldn't work with the manifold i have and the intercooler i bought is pretty large, so that's why i decided to do a custom job.

if you buy greddy's pipes the idle air stuff and everything else is taken care of but unless your intercooler is the same size you may be cutting to make things fit right. it's kind of your call on whether you want to do all the extra work, but i can tell you it's not that big of a deal, and what i have works just fine.

oh one more thing... your bov flange will have to be welded on also, and i think the greddy kit already comes with that done. i also know someone who can weld aluminum for me for free. if i had to pay for everything i had done on my car that i didn't do then it probably weould have been for feasable to go with a pre made kit like greddy's.
