Its a ***** really. Out of no where, BOOM, and the car dies. It started resently on the throttle body side right before it goes under where the battery use to be. I put T-Bolt clamps on and it fix the problem for a few days but now it popped off right where it connects to the intercooler. I tighten it and it comes off again.

On of my buddies said it could be something wrong with my BOV, but i haven't adjusted it or the boost pressure ever. Another dude said it could be my motor shifting to much when throttle is applied

Anyone have any ideas why it keeps on popping off?

PS: Stock turbo, HKS SSQV, 7psi.

Are the lips of the pipes bead rolled? Bead rolling the lips can help eliminate that problem.

However, I have seen broken motor mounts allow the motor to rock enough to pop pipes off. You may want to inspect the mounts just to play it safe.

also if your intercooler piping is put together janky... like if youf have to force it in the coupler cuz it doesnt line up good then that can cuase it.

It's not the BOV. Compressor surge will destroy your couplers but not blow off piping unless you are boosting like 30psi or something nuts. I bet it's the motor twisting like Hijacker said. Getting a torque damper should help.

It all lines up nicely and isn't too junky. All stainless steel pipes. So how do a get these beads rolled and torque damper on the what now?

A torque damper can help, but there's no need to waste money on an expensive thing like that if the simple solution is a broken motor mount. I used to pop my hotpipe off my IC back in the day because I had a busted mount. And the damned pipe was even hard mounted to the chassis.

Unless you have a broken motor mount (just get under it and look) its the fact that you dont have the ends of the pipe rolled

this is what you need. I had the exact same problem, I just took it all apart where it was blowing off and took leftover pieces I had with rolled edges and we welded them on the ends (after cutting to length etc). You could probably find some short pieces w/ rolled edges on ebay

I see i see.

Well tell me this then, if a busted motor mount isn't my problem then what could it be?
