haha ronin. actually, kazama uses this method on his d1 s15 :)

Quote »major psi lossage[/quote]why do you say that? imagine taking your basic greddy vspec core and cutting it in half and mounting it on opposite sides like the stock sidemount. the endtank outlets are now in an L shape. the top outlet is for the cold and hot side respectively. the bottom outlet connect each sidemount with a straight pipe between them. the surface area of the cores is still equal to any decent front mount, the thickness is the only variable but i doubt you are going to run a 5 core thick sidemount :rolleyes

Thats what i was planing, only super cheapified dual side mounts. How good do you think 2 1G DSM sidemounts will perform? I got them for $30 each so its worth a try :pface

I know, but that wasn't my point. I was thinking you have 2 sidemounts with one outlet on each. One going to the IM, the other to the turbo. My theory was, air would have much less piping to go through, but maybe I'm wrong

yea but thats alot of piping considering u would have 2 cold pipes and 2 hot pipes which = alot of work fitting the pipes and making a Y-hot pipe and Y-cold pipe. i just dont think there would be much advantage in just running the dual side mount style we were talking about above and even with that i dont see it being worth the work to not have a front mount when u can just paint ur intercooler black so no one could notice it

Matt....you need help.

If you guys have 2 side mounts, why not cut the end tanks off the side of both and weld them together and make it a FMIC. If you want to go really cheap, you could just use JB weld. I know it holds IC piping together. So for you DIY guys with no money, you need a hack saw, JB weld and PVC piping. Might as well put duct tape on it for good measure.

Once the install is done, you have to wear a wife beater while driving.

Two sidemounts would be pretty stealthy, but the extra length of piping would make more lag.

Dejon Tool had dual sidemounts for the the DSM using two 1g sidemounts. Less lossage than other dsm intercooler substitutes. Some of you know what you're talking about, others repeat what they say like drones.

Oh no someone JDM uses dual sidemounts. I'll start counting until those same naysayers start praising.

Paint the intercooler black? What about during the daytime on a red car. Whoa, hey whats that big black square infront!?!?!?!
