Can anyone identify the intercooler below? Core size 7x10x2.5.Supposed to be off a JDM vehicle, maybe diesel. Suggested as replacement for standard 180sx WMIC.

Thats too large to fit in the wing mount area.

Looks Nissan but I can't pinpoint it.

Thanks alot Nismo. Was actually thinking of using it as a small FMIC given the end location of the inlet and outlet pipes. The target sr20det is not in a 180sx but has been transplanted into a Peugeot 505 and fitment of the standard wing mount IC is proving a problem given the orientation of the inlet and outlet pipes. Intend to keep the engine stock so don't need a large FMIC. Will most probably give it a try.

Wing is how the rest of the world defines what we in the US call a "fender"

That looks like a decent core to support 10 - 12 psi worth of boost pressure. Much nicer end tank design and overall physical constraints than the OEM SR intercooler.

Seems like you are opting for this on the cheap? I'd have a look into an Evo OEM FMIC or GTR FMIC if you are wanting something substantial enough to hold 300whp.

Yes cost is a factor plus which I am no longer that young and 300 whp sounds frightening to me especially as my wife and daughter may drive the vehicle at times. My motivation for an IC upgrade would be improved reliability by reducing thermal stresses. I live in the Caribbean and daytime temperatures are 30+ centrigade. How does the Evo OEM compare to the Supra Mk iv? I may be able to get the latter at a price within my budget?
