Unless your running a supersized snail (think 600+hp) the core size will just add to turbo lag and yes it will be noticeable. If you want an intercooler that is large andcomes with piping hit eBay up for a Godspeed Project intercooler. They come with piping/silicone and the entire kit runs 250ish. I have been using their bar and plate intercoolers for a while and the only drawback is their weight but saving $500 and getting an intercooler that weighs 9lbs more is good in my book.

Yes it will require some bumper trimming and relocating or smaller battery as the piping comes up through the tray but ALL good intercoolers will require this as well.

The M-spec is good although mising the hotpipe an if you dont plan on going over 300 at the wheels you will be fine with this unit. The Blitz intercoolers are usually the cheapest name brand intercoolers and they have a proven bar and plate design for high flow. Check around for the best price. What is your target hp number?

I'm running a Blitz LM. Fully polished, quality stuff. Check for sale threads for a used FMIC. This is a zero wear item unless the owner gets in a wreck or drives behind a dump truck full of rocks.

your better off with an hks type r intercooler because it will handle anything. You can go to a metal warehouse and buy your own pipe

Or, you can get a nice piping kit that will fit the 3" inlets/outlets on your intercooler from Hi Pro http://www.hiprollc.com. To get just the piping, without the intercooler, you have to call, but it is a top quality kit. Around $200 for the piping, silicon couplers, t-bolt clamps... cheaper than making it yourself! I am using their intercooler and piping kit on my RB vert and have no complaints.
