intercooler help

hey guys, im new to this forum and i was wondering if anyone could help me out, im currently in the process of swaping my engine but before i do that i would like to convert to a front mounted intercooler and i was wondering if anyone new of a kit or if its easier to buy the intercooler and then the pipes and where could i get these,thank you

Unless you get a rare CA specific kit (do an eBay search for Ca18 or CA18DET from time to time....I have seen Apex, GReddy and ARC FMICs for the CA) then you need to get a custom coldpipe ot modify an SR one. Everything else from an SR FMIC should bolt right up.

Instead of am FMIC, and since I don't want more than 300rwhp, I picked up an ARC Super SMIC, and I got a custom aluminum coldpipe and my custom hotpipe should be done soon

hey, thanks for the reply.i found an front mounted intercooler and fitting kit for the Ca18DET made by Apex and it mounts in the engine bay , the only draw back is that its in UK but ill be ordering it if any one else is interested just let me now.

the price they gave me was about 500 euros witch is about $650 ,thats for the intercooler and fitting kit. Im still waiting for the shipping estimate, sorry

That isn't bad at all! I spent $300 on my ARC SMIC (retail is $880USD so that is cool), $150 on an Al coldpipe, and I am getting a hotpipe fabbed (stainless) that will be about $150 as well. Shoot us some pics when it is done! I have seen one of those Apex'i FMIC kits for our cars on eBay....lucky dog!!
