I really must say that the intercooler is the toughest part of the swap so far. The fact that my kit didn't come with any directions or anything was probably a factor though. Overall, this took me four hours to do, which is really bad, even by my standards. Cutting that hole was a pain in the *** with a dremel and a drill because the positioning was really akward. But it's done... Now I have to email Heavy Throttle because I couldn't figure out anyway to keep my washer resevoir and still be able to fit that battery in. Pretty much sucks, but I'll come up with something for it.

Aiming for this weekend when Wayne takes care of me.Man, I am ****ing tired.

EDIT: Yes, the third picture of the hole is the rough cut... It has been completely shaved down now.

seeing the cardboard infront of the intercooler reminds me of a hill billy pick up truck. Cardboard over the radiator. Anyways, nice install, looks pretty good. Cant you just get a battery relocation kit, and then youd have enough room?

Hey man, look at the shirt he's wearing while working on his car. Everytimes I go to my friend's shop and hang out, so I can go out later that evening, I always wear nice clothes, and white color is my favorite because it really makes me look cleaner. By the end of the day, getting ready to go out, I'm all dirty and crap because everytimes, I just can't sit still, or they want me to do something, so I was like I'll be careful and not get myself dirty. Yeah, that didn't work out really well.

Why did you pick that FMIC? Is there a reason or we are just buying the brand name?

Any intercooler will work with anything so long as the piping matches up. It just varies in efficiency and construction, as well as how much power it can handle.

In regards to the where does the intercooler fit, the intercooler kits are made to fit an engine, not a car. And yes, a S13 intercooler kit will fit an S13 engine even if its in a S14. The engines are basically the same, the piping follows the same path thru the chassis, it's just the turbo hookup and the throttle body that may vary which is why you need the kit for the engine rather than the chassis. Enjoy your day!

Black240-Yes, I did the swap myself, yes, I will be bringing the car whenever the SoCal people can finally arrange a real meet. As for how long it took me, I am doing a write up kinda thing for my other site, http://www.speed-society.com. I will go over a lot of stuff there.

Structure240SX-Wayne is welding me up a hotpipe that goes from the compressor to the pipe that goes through the drivers side by the intake. I will be putting my BOV on that pipe which is an HKS SSQV.

AznRide-I really have no idea what you are saying about my shirt. It's just a white shirt because I was wearing another, nicer shirt over it but I took it off when I started working on my car. Then it got cold so I put on a jacket. As for why I bought that IC, please notice how much I paid for it. You cannot beat that price on a kit, no matter what.

Is JSPEC still offering that price? How long did it take for them to ship it to you?

Also, did you not get a smic with your clip, so you could use the hot pipe that came with that?

hey Daunt then why does Jspec say this: Greddy V-SPL HG front mount intercooler for 1995 to 1998 240sx(S14) and also 1989 to 1994 version(S13). It's used for any s14 chasis 240sx doing a S14 SR20DET swap(S13 SR20DET will require modification).

the only part thats different is the pipe that goes from the intercooler to the throttle body...since the s14 throttle body is differnt place than the s13...that pipe would require modification...basically cuttng off about 4"'s of pipe that goes to the throttle body, and rewelding it to an angle that would meet the throttle body.....just get the one for the motor and save a headache, and an ugly welding line on the pipe.and s14 motor going into a s13, will require the engine bay to be modified to put the pipe through the bay....

Ok I currently have an S14 chassis (95-96), and am dropping a redtop in my car...then ordering the S13 intercooler hit...

thnx

Don, does it really require 3 posts to ask me your question? postcount++

Is JSPEC still offering that price? How long did it take for them to ship it to you?Christmas Blowout Special. I got it a week or so after I ordered it, but that's because of Xmas.

Also, did you not get a smic with your clip, so you could use the hot pipe that came with that?I didn't get a clip, I got a motorset. Aluminum Hotpipe > Rubber/Metal Hotpipe.

I H8, I gotta pull that pipe out so that I can cut more, but it's SUCH A PAIN to cut that out with a damn dremel, I gotta find a sawzall or something.
