Well I am keeping my engine N/A, so I need every little bit of power I can get, do you think there would be showable power gains from using a DSM sized intercooler to cool intake air? Right now there is only a hot air adapter that was put on before I got it, I need to put the airbox back in because that thing actually hurts your performance.

Back on track, I just need something kind of inexpensive to tinker with and build, it's pretty boring out here in AZ, and considering mandrel bent 2.5" is available at home depot, I figure why not.

So, would the IC cool the air enough to provide gaint similar to that of any other CAI? Thanks.

an intercooler would make you lose power on a NA car. It's not like air is blowing through the intercooler with force as with a turbo, NA the engine has to suck air through. A CAI would be your best bet.

I don't think it'd help enough to make it justifiable, and peopel would *gasp* call you a ricer, 'cause you have an intercooler and no turbo, I wouldn't, 'cause I couldn't care less, but people seem to be drinking a bit too much Hatorade these days, so...

How about I just cut a whole in my hood and stick the intake filter through, and make a super ram intake... *sigh*

the air path would be really long and restrictive compared to a regular intake. u would have to make piping to go down to were cool air is then piping out of the intercooler for the filter. so the air would have to go through the filter then through all the fins of the intercooler finally back up a couple feet to the throttle body. of course u couldmove thebattery and extend the mafs wires and put it in the well under the battery after moving the windsheild washer resivor.

if u want to do somthing like that get one of those front mount intakes for hondas and make coustom piping. still might not be worth it tho. just make the shortest intake possible

even better than cutting a hole would be to take the whole hood off, and then make a funnel-like attatchment to your intake. now that is ram air.
