interchangeable parts (the sequel)

i posted in 240 gen, but i got nowhere. mods if you feel it is necessary, i promise i won't hold a grudge if you delete this thread or the other. now i know that some parts between the nissan cars of the same year are in fact interchangeable (for example i am currently running a maxima window motor in my car). as it turns out, my ds window switch is no good and i was wondering it i can use a switch from another nissan of the same year (1995 btw). i am assuming that the assembly might be different but maybe the circuit board itself is the same. 240's are far and few between in the local junkyards and i'm not having too much luck finding one online so i was hoping that this might facilitate the search a bit more. thanks nicoland.
