interchangeable parts

i was wondering... what parts are interchangeable between diff cars..ive heard things like altima cams.. z32 brakes.. what kind of things like this are interchangeable and would be an improvement upon a stock 94 kade? i have searched and searched and cant find anything on this kind of stuff.. and the stuff that is interchangeable what more do you need to make it work.. plus in know you can interchange cams out of any dohc 240 and ive heard 91 cams are the best of the years. also heard that the 248 intake and 240 exhaust setup is best.. thoughts on this as well as how do i find out what cams i have and that i will buy? other than taking someones word.. i dont really trust people.. is there any marking #s that tell which cams they are? looking to squeeze a bit more power out of the stock kade before i boost it.. (way down the road).. i already have aem intake.. was planing on exhaust not sure which type.. i havent heard any ive liked i hate that fart can sound and so many seem to be like that.. i like the deeper sounds.. but havent found any that i really like the sound of yet..

Part numbers tell you whats interchangeable. If they are not the same part number then you take chances on whether it will work or not, Hence the needed research.

And all of the info you say isn't available IS available, be it not in one spot. Not a lot of cookie cutter recipes for these cars...unlike the stable of cars you keep.

Anyways, I do not believe the altima cams would be of any benefit or even know if they fit. I know the other cams really have no consistent markings, so you have to find the vehicle yourself see the year on the vin plate, hope that the cams/parts are original and pull it yourself seeing as you don't trust people. Thoughts on those cams profiles? I agree I've heard the 91' has a better cam. I'm sure 248 240 would be fine.

ka exhaust note IS deep for a 4cyl. You say fart can. I ask, what price range have you looked into? Because it seems to me, the nice expensive exhausts sound nice. stock manifold/dp/cheap ebay test pipe to cheap ebay exhaust sounds like....well...anyways...

HCI had an issue a long time with a nice little article titled 150 tuner tips most of them are redundant but for the most part it covers alot of interchangable parts for 240's most of wich i cannot remember at this time, but any here is what i remember.

Interchangeable parts list: (please correct me if im wrong)

ka24de pistons swap into ka24e
z32 fuel filter
z 32 brakes
85-86.5 rx7's have 550cc injectors
intercooler from an audi/ volvo + others box trucks and such
+ turbo with some mods
........ thats all i can remember for now ill update when i review the hope it helps
