Interchangeable P/S pumps?

my motorset didnt come with one and ive ran no p/s for months now and I was wondering if I could just use one off a KA or will I have to get ahold of one off a CA? thanks guys, and do you think my p/s rack is damaged from not running with p/s for so long?

AFAIK, the CA pump is the only one that will work.

I did like you have when I first had my swap and it works fine now that I have the PS hooked up, but it developed a leak at the rack where the knuckle from the steering shaft feeds into it.

The Ca18ET S12 pump MIGHT work, but AFAIK, nobody's tried it.

ive got an sr20det pump for $50

but im not sure if will work with ca's

The Ca18ET S12 pump MIGHT work, but AFAIK, nobody's tried it.

Yup the S12 pump works --if you have the right bracket --you either need to shim the S12 bracket to the block --or it bolts right up to the non Hicas S13 bracket.

Does anybody know what the pressure rating is for the S12 pump versus the S13 pump?

Not to thread jack or anything, I just have a quick ps question since everybody is on that subject instead of making another thread.

What usdm ps pump bracket and ps pump will fit the CA? My motorset came with the hicas pump but I sold it because I didn't think I could use it.

as stated above no us pump works, but the ca18det pump...but no one has tried

now, when it comes to power steering pumps, the hicas one has 3 places that need to be connected right? i also have a spare one which i am going to try but it wasn't working on my previous motor and i have a feeling the guys who swapped my motor just slapped a ka24e one on

Logan76, well i got the pictures last night but my computer died this past weekend. and i forgot to bring my cable to work today so i can upload the pictures. hopefully i can borrow a friends laptop tonight and upload them. sorry about the wait. i have a bunch of parts that i am going to need to be named since i have no idea what they are for (really don't care either since i am not using any comforts of life) 1970 datsun 510 didn't have A/C or power steering. haha. hopefully i can get them loaded up today.

The s12 p/s pump will not work. At least the one off my 86 turbo wont. The belts are different so you have to swap the pulley but the rod that the pulleys attach to are different sizes. So the s12 ca18et pump will not work. Very strange since both the part numbers were the same?
