Interchangeable ABS sensor 97 Infiniti Q45

Hey guy,

I tried searching and couldn’t find anything pertaining to this, specifically for this chassis. I was trying to swap to some coils yesterday, and 45 mins in we ran into a bad lower ball joint and abs sensor. I now I’ve seen an old thread for the lower ball joint so I have that end covered and ordered, however I can’t seem to find anything for the ABS sensors. I was wondering if there were any other sensors that would fit / be interchangeable with this chassis? The price for one of these sensors from the dealer ranges anywhere from $170-250 a pc (varying sites). I was hoping there were some gurus out there that can help me out with this.

You didn't indicate what position in the car, but I assume somewhere in front?

Typically I goto an OEM site to source the part numbers then post them all over the Internet to see of I can get them cheaper.
Then I also look at images and compare to other Nissan models of the era. Unfortunately, in my experience ABS signals are pretty specific.

It seems your only options are the online retailers (gasp worthy prices) or gamble with a used one depending on what you value your car at.

I do hope someone comes here with some more positive info/ experience.

Thanks for the reply Edbwoy. Apologize for the indicating which sensor, but you’re correct it would be for both front sensors. I have searched online via the part number and the cheapest I found was around $170. I would def go with the used route if I can even find them. What’s the worst case if I don’t have them on? I know people who do 240 suspension swaps don’t usually run ABS sensors. Sorry, I’m just the type of person who gets a bit paranoid / finicky when it comes to the car and would have a peace of mind knowing everything that’s supposed to be there is there. You will have TCS, ABS and SLIP lights on in the gauge cluster. You also will not have ABS. I had to smash mine out when I did my coilovers and never bothered to replace them. I bought a used set on ebay once for $125 for both but I have no idea where they went.

MowgliCSM. Thanks the the reply! I’ll just live with it for now and try to find a used set over the winter. But if you find yours, I’ll gladly buy em off you lol. Now I just hope the lower ball joint I bought will press into the control arms. Thank you again!
