well since I have matched a CA18ET head gasket to a CA18DET one I highly doubt there would be a difference between the two DOHC heads as far as water passages etc.

Nathan, yes I live in England where I have for the last 2 years now about 30 minutes north of Cambridge. Every day enjoy my '90 200sx with a factory powered CA18DET that I have only lightly modified so far. This car is what really turned me on to Nissan as I use to be a dire DSM fan. I asked the question orginally because I am thinking about buying a parts car to disassemable and take what I want when I leave here in a year to construct a 240 project in the states but I really want the 8 port head that everyone seems to be raving about as my car doesn't have it.

I hate to sound stupid, but whats the difference between the 8 port and the 4 port? is it just the butterflies in the intake manifold?? or is the exhaust different too??

Well to let you know the heads are interchangeable, but from personal experience with both, the 4 port from the euro version feels less restrictive at higher rpm and higher boost maybe its just me but hey.

I used to have a JDM head and block and I ditched the JDM 8 port head for the Euro 4 port, the main thing you will need if your converting from the euro head is the section of inlet manifold from the head to the inlet plenum and the fuel rail, the injector spacing is different on the JDM head because it only sprays fuel on the back of one valve, whilst the other gets coated with crankcase vapour crap.

And I totally agree with ReGgAe CA, and I also think that the low end response was identical.
