The intelligent lock which lets me unlock the car by pressing the button on the door, doesn't work on the drivers side. it works on the passenger side. Do i need to replace the whole handle or is there a sensor/ button that i can replace?

Hmm, I would imagine it's the whole handle. Take a look at the FSM and see if it shows it as being a separate piece (link in my sig in the HowTo's).

have someone stand on the driver's side with the keyfob and then have someone else push the button on the passenger side door handle. there's two parts to the system. one is the button on the handle, but the other is the seemingly directional antenna used to locate the keyfob.

But the antenna is also part of the handle as per infinitipartsusa and the FSM. If it doesn't work i've got to replace it. Luckily i've found a couple of used ones on ebay. I've emailed the sellers to ask if the sensors work. Hopefully i get a positive response.
