Intelligent Key System Question

So I have a Versa HB SL 2009 with the bluetooth and Intelligent Key system. I love the keyless entry, very handy for the times when your keys are hard to get to. But some times mine beeps at me when I try to lock the car and shut the door. It will beep several times and not lock.

Has any one had this same thing? Am I locking it wrong? Just wondering.

The i-key is designed to not lock the door while it is open that way you can't lock the key inside the car. Normal operation.

I can do even one better, leave the i-key inside your car, lock the doors with the button on the door and shut them, the Versa actually unlocks all doors then and does the panic beep.

Sometimes though with the key in my pocket and not even pushing any lock buttons shutting the door causes the beep goes off, so random though I don't really care. More worried about my radio loosing a minute every week or so.

Yikes! My automatic watch is more accurate than that. I haven't noticed if ours has the same issue. Quartz timekeeping should be more accurate than that.

Occasionally, when my wife is driving and she attempts to lock the door via the iKey button on the door, it'll beep as if the key is in the car. I think it's the proximity of the fob in her purse to the car, for some reason. When I drive the car and the fob is in my pocket, it doesn't occur.

Mine tends to do that when I close all the doors and have the engine idling. It's a security purpose.
