Does anyone have this issue: When passing through an anti-theft device (for example: at the exit of Home Depot, Wal Mart, Old Navy) it sets off the anti-theft alarm.

I know they sometimes sew them into clothes etc. I have for sure removed them from any clothing but still get the alarm, it can sometimes be annoying/embarrassing...

Any thoughts??

Thanks in advance!

Its def not the key...

Check your jacket dude! Sometimes they sew them inside hidden!

Or just stop stuffing things in your pockets instead of paying for them!

i used to work at home depot and chances are it wasn't you that set it off. often times when they place merchandise near the gates that has those sensormatic tags in them it'll set it off every so often. also if there are trash cans near by someone could have thrown away a package from something that tag still active. or what my favorite prank used to be is take one of those small adhesive tags and place it on someone as a joke and watch them scramble as they're walking out the store

if i were you i wouldn't pay attention to it unless you're shoplifting and even then unless they saw you pocket it they can't touch or say anything incriminating to you or chances are they'll be fired. too many defamation lawsuits in the past so they tied up everyone's hands about it.

I used to do that same thing when I worked retail.. Stick those tags on the f**kers you don't like.. And I have no need to shoplift but thanks for the tips maybe ill start now..

It seriously ONLY happens when I walk through the detector.. I have tried different things like leaving my cell phone in the car etc.. I usually only have my key and wallet.. And its only some stores but always the same..

Am I really the only one this happens too??

You didnt "buy" anything, but walked out with something eigh? Just kidding!

Its not the key man, its something else... When it happens again stand there for a minute and run all the items on you thru the "magic gate"... Shoes, jacket etc... find the culprit by elimination!

Actually I have the exact same problem. I always get caught stealing! Jk! No I also set off the store alarms but I could never figure out why. I guess It could be my fob. Let me know what you find out

Actually I was out this weekend and set one off.. I took my truck instead so I didn't have the fob with me for the Altima..

Do you have a credit card with one of those "chips" in it? I think that might now be the problem..

I always just assumed it had to be the fob..

Ahhh HA!I told you it wasnt the fob, 1 out of 10'ish people has a new nissan with one of those fobs, the alarms would be going bonkers in stores if it was the fob setting it off..

CASE CLOSED!
